1. Mehrangarh Fort

2. Red Fort

Gwalior Fort is one of the historical forts in India where so many struggles and wars of Indian history had taken place, from Tatya Tope's fight to Rani Lakshmi Bai's last breath. This majestic fort was built by Rana Man Singh Tomar in Madhya Pradesh.

And the architectural styles of Gwalior is a perfect blend of Mughal and Rajputs with beautiful motifs, lattice work, ceramic tiles, etc. The attractive parts of Gwalior Fort are Bahu Temple, Man Mandir, and the Gujari Mahal, at present now a museum. 4. Jaisalmer Fort


Jaisalmer Fort is perched on Trikuta Hills and is one of the largest forts in India and the world, built by Rawal Jaisal. Jaisalmer is the oldest fort in Rajasthan near the Thar Desert, with the strongest fortification walls. It was located at an altitude of 76 m above the city, and there is a lot to see inside the fort like palaces, Jain temples, colossal gates, and Havelis, etc.

So, many myths and stories about this fort say that this fort was built without using water. However, it is the most visited fort in Rajasthan. At sunset, it turns into golden color due to the vicinity of the Thar desert so it was also called as Sonar Kila or Golden Fort.

5. Golconda Fort


Golconda is a majestic fort in Hyderabad, which was built by the Kakatiya Kings. This monument has a great history as the center for the diamond mine all over India and also known all over the world at that times. The precious diamonds like Kohinoor and the Hope diamond also excavated here only. Golconda is well-known as a Diamond mine in the olden days.

This majestic fort is famous for its architectural styles like eight gateways, royal apartments, temples, mosques, 87 semicircular bastions, four drawbridges, etc. An interesting thing in the Golconda Fort is the acoustic effect at Fateh Darwaza. 6. Chittorgarh Fort


Chittorgarh Fort is India’s largest Fort and well-known as “Water Fort” because it comprises 84 water tanks, but at present, there are 24 only. The beauty of this fort is speechless with temples, ponds, wells, reservoirs, chhatris, palaces, massive gates, stambha, etc and these are the attractions of Chittorgarh Fort.

7. Kangra Fort


Kangra Fort is the largest fort in the Himalayas and one of the oldest forts in India. It was built by the founder of Katoch Dynasty on the confluence of the Banganga and Manjhi rivers in Kangra town. This fort is located at the top of the hill which looks like an isolated fort.

This fort comprises numerous temples and palaces and the famous temples of this fort are Vajreshwari temple, Jain temple, and Ambika Devi. And the Lord Lakshmi-Narayana shrine is the famous one in this fort.

8. Amber Fort


Amber or Amer Fort is a massive and great hilltop fort in the city of Amer, Jaipur. In Jaipur, Amber Fort is the center of attraction with gigantic fortification walls, beautiful palaces inside, gardens with lush greenery, decorated rooms with different architectural skills, divine temples etc.

10. Srirangapatna Fort


Srirangapatna Fort is the most famous fort in Karnataka on the beds of Kaveri river. It was built in the 15th century under the Vijayanagar Empire but the most of the work done under the rule of Tipu Sultan. 7. Jai Vilas Palace


Jai Vilas Palace is one of the grandest buildings in Gwalior and built by Jaya ji rao Scindia in the year 1874. The palace houses 400 rooms which are completely furnished with royal-looking amenities. The style of architecture followed in building this palace are Tuscan, Corinthian, and Italian styles.

Out of 400 rooms, 40 rooms were transformed into the museum and named as Jiwaji Rao Scindia Museum. The museum of this palace is a major attraction here in displaying arts and crafts of Scindia dynasty. And this palace is known for the collection of antiques and gadgets of old times.
