This is a seven days and six nights Heritage of India itinerary covering exclusive destinations around several states of the country to give an outlook of the lifestyle, history, nature and architectural beauty. This is a holistic vacation to enjoy every face of India. The trip starts in Mumbai of Maharashtra and ends in the capital of the country, New Delhi.
Unlike most of the other itineraries, the welcome ceremony and the registration process take place in Taj Mahal Palace Hotel in Mumbai at 9 in the morning. By 10:30, the tourists will be taken to the Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaja Terminus railway station to board the Maharajas’ Express train.
The train starts its journey towards Udaipur by 11:30.
Lunch (12:30) and dinner (19:30) are served on-board. Overnight stay in the train.
The train reaches Udaipur by 10 in the morning. The city tour starts immediately and you will be taken to Lake Pichola for boating and sightseeing at City Palace and the famous Crystal Gallery.
After a brief rest, you will be taken on a local city tour by 13:15. You can also choose to relax with a spa session in a premium hotel. By 18:15, you will be taken for a luxury dinner at Satkar Hall of the Fateh Prakash Palace or in Jag Mandir Palace. The tourists are taken back to the train by late evening, around 20:30.
Train starts its journey towards Jodhpur by 22:00.
Breakfast (08:00) and Lunch (13:15) are served in Maharajas' Express Restaurants. Overnight stay in the train.
The train reaches Jodhpur by 9:15 and tourists will be taken on a heritage tour to Bishnoi Village. By 14:30 in the afternoon, tourists will be taken on a sightseeing trip to Mehrangarh Fort and for a walking tour around the market area of Old Clock Tower. The city tour ends with a ride on tuk-tuk.
Exclusive cocktail dinner is served in Khaas Bagh or Hanwant Mahal at 17:30. By 20:15, tourists will be taken back to the train.
The train starts its journey towards Bikaner by 3 in the morning, next day.
Breakfast (07:30) and lunch (13:00) are served on-board. Overnight stay in the train.
By late afternoon 14:00, tourists will be taken to Junagarh Fort and a sundowner at the sand dunes.
By 17:30, an exclusive cultural evening with cocktails and barbeques starts in the sand dunes. By 20:15, the tourists are taken back to the train.
The train starts its journey towards Jaipur by 21:30.
The train reaches Jaipur by 9:30 in the morning. The tourists are taken for an exploration visit to Amber Fort.
By 12:30, lunch is arranged at Rambagh Palace Hotel. Tourists will be taken back to the train by 16:00 for brief rest. They can either stay back in the train or take up a city sightseeing tour or spa session in any of premium hotels or a visit to Jantar Mantar and City Palace.
By 21:30, the train starts its journey towards Ranthambore.
Breakfast (08:00) and dinner (20:00) are served on-board. Overnight stay in the train.
The day starts with a game drive at Ranthambore National Park at 06:30 in the morning.
By 10:15, you will be taken on a short trip to Fatehpur Sikri in the train. The train reaches Fatehpur Sikri by 14:30. The exploration of the city starts by 15:30 and tourists will be taken back to the train by 18:00. At 19:30, an Indian cultural dinner is enjoyed inside the train with cultural programs and dinner.
Train starts its journey towards Agra, late at night.
Breakfast (09:45), lunch(13:30) and dinner(19:30) are served on-board. Overnight stay in the Maharajas' Express Cabins.
The train reaches Agra by 06:45 in the morning. Tourists are taken for an early morning tour to Taj Mahal. A champagne breakfast is served at Taj Khema by 09:30 am. By 10:45, tourists are taken back to the train and train starts its final step of journey of the itinerary to Delhi by 11:05.
Lunch (13:00) is served on-board.
