The Indian Odyssey will take you across numerous colorful destinations around India with warmth and luxury. This is a journey by train that is like no other and you can enjoy a royal journey of 8 days. The trip starts in Delhi, which is the capital of India and then takes you to Ranthambore National Park, Agra, Udaipur, Jaipur, Vadodara and finally Aurangabad. The journey will help you to see the rich history of the country that is preserved in the structures and monuments.
Welcome aboard the Deccan Odyssey train.
You will arrive at the railway station around 2015 hours in order to finish up the registration and check-in formalities. You will enjoy a traditional welcome in the Indian style and enjoy a welcome drink. You will be escorted to your cabins so you can settle in before the train departs for Sawai Madhopur. Dinner will be served on board.

Early in the morning you will have breakfast on the train as it arrives in Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan.
You will then get off and drive to Ranthambore National Park, which is one of the biggest national park in the country. It is home to numerous varieties of fauna and flora and it is known for having a huge population of gorgeous tigers. There are plenty of other species of animals here, including crocodiles, leopards, sloth bear, chinkara gazelles, Nilgai antelope, wild boar, Sambhar deer and Chita. It is also a paradise for those who love birds and you can see flycatchers, woodpeckers, the crested serpent eagle, quails, partridges and jungle fowl.
You will head back to the train after the wildlife tour and have lunch before heading out for your village safari. Experience a rural life of Rajasthan as you will be moving to village safari. You can interact with some of the locals and walk through the villages while being shown around by the locals and learn how they live on a daily basis.
After you will head to Sawai Madhopur Lodge for high-tea and after head back to the train for some relaxation time. Dinner will be on the train while it heads for India’s city of love, Agra.

You will enjoy a delicious breakfast on the train before heading to visit the Taj Mahal, which is just one of the 7 wonders of the world. It was constructed by Shah Jahan, who was a Mughal emperor for Mumtaz Mahal, who was his wife. It is made of white marble and it features a combination of Indian, Islamic and Persian architecture styles.
Lunch will be served at the city hotel and you will finish sightseeing in Agra after lunch. You will visit the marble mausoleum of Ghiyas Beg, which was build for him by his daughter and is named Itmad-ud-Daulah and it is also called the “Baby Taj” since it looks like the Taj Mahal.
You will later leave to head to Agra Fort, which was the seat for Mughal administration and reign for 3 generations.
Also, make sure to visit the Royal Pavilions, “Hall of Public Audience” or Diwan-e-Am.
You can also wander the local markets and shop for some Mughal artifacts and ornaments or enjoy a spa treatment at the hotel.
In the evening, you will return to the Deccan Odyssey and enjoy dinner while it heads for Jaipur, The Pink City.

Jaipur is dotted with bustling markets, palaces, gardens and forts and it is called the Pink City.
You will have your breakfast on the train and then leave to visit the Amber Fort, which overlooks Maoto Lake. There are numerous rooms, halls and courtyards in the fort that are decorated with beautiful mirrors, paintings and stones. Make sure to visit the “Hall of Mirrors” or Sheesh Mahal, which shows off the glory and beauty that a single candle can make with plenty of mirrors.
After the visit to Amber Fort you will head to the Palace of Winds or Hawa Mahal. This palace was built with pink sandstone and has a spectacular view of the entire city.
You will later visit the City Palace, which is a complex full of courtyards, gardens and alluring palaces. There is also a museum here that has a huge collection of carpets, armory, rare manuscripts and costumes. Make sure to visit Jantar Mantar, which is an astronomical observatory from the 18th century and it is famous for having some of the most accurate readings to date.
Lunch will again be held at the City hotel.
After lunch, you can enjoy a spa treatment at a Palace Hotel or visit the local markets of the city for some ethnic and unique handicrafts.
After the sightseeing you will return to the train for dinner and stay overnight.

The train arrives in Udaipur, which is called the city of lakes and it is on the shore of Lake Pichola. Enjoy breakfast before getting off the rain and heading to the biggest complex of palaces in Rajasthan, which is famous for the Crystal Gallery.
After this, you will hop on a ferry to go to Lake Pichola to arrive at Jagmandir. The palace is from the 17th century and you will enjoy an amazing lunch here while surrounded by Tabla sounds and entertainment from the Jal Tarang.
When lunch is over you will head back to the train for some rest. You will leave on a walking tour of the old city of Udaipur where you can shop for handicrafts like brassware, pottery, painted wood boxes, jewelry, handmade papers, terracotta sculptures, cloth lanterns, wall hangings and puppets.
Dinner will be on the train while it travels to Vadodara.
Overnight on Deccan Odyssey.
Today you arrive at Vadodara, which is the princely state and located on the River Vishwamitri. Enjoy your breakfast before you get off the train and head to the Champaner-Pavagadh Archaeological Park, a UNESCO World heritage site which is full of tombs, palatial and forts that encroach into the nearby city of Champaner.
You will later visit the Jama Masjid or the Great Mosque that was constructed during 1513 and features both Muslim and Hindu architecture.
You will travel back to Vadodara for a scrumptious lunch on the Deccan Odyssey.
After lunch you will visit the Maharaja Fateh Singh Museum before heading for some high tea to be held at Laxmi Vilas Palace, which was constructed back in 1890. The main attraction of the palace is the Durbar Hall, which has a Venetian style mosaic floor with beautiful decorated walls and stained glass windows. There is also a huge collection of old sculptures and armory in terracotta, marble and bronze that were created by Fellici. You will be treated to a regional folk performance while enjoying some specialties from the nearby Royal Kitchens.
You will have dinner on the Deccan Odyssey as it travels for Aurangabad where you will be treated to some gorgeous activities.

Today you arrive at Aurangabad, which is Maharashtrian industrial town. It was named after Aurangzeb, who was the last Mughal Emperor. Here you can visit Ellora Caves, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Make sure to visit some of the famous monuments from the city, including Bibi-ka-Makbara, Daulatabad Fort and much more..
The day will be starting late while you enjoy breakfast on the train along with some highly entertaining activities.
You will later enjoy the lunch as the train arrives in the city and before you head to Ellora Caves, which is some 30 kilometers away from the city. There are 34 shrines that are rock cut that feature Hindu, Jain and Buddhist art that dates back to both the 4th and 5th centuries AD. The Ellora caves house 12 Buddhist that are to the south, while the center houses 17 Hindu saves and to the north are 5 Jain caves. The caves are famous for having the Kailash temple and it is though to be an exact replica of the celestial home of Shiva on Mt. Kailash.
After some sightseeing near the Ellora Caves, you will return to the train.
You will be able to relax for the evening while enjoying the sun downer to be held at the Mumbai-Hi, which will be followed by dinner.

Early in the morning you will enjoy your breakfast before getting down at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Railway Station in Mumbai. Here you will have to say your goodbyes to all of the royal comforts that you enjoyed on the Deccan Odyssey since the journey has come to an end.
