The Palace on Wheels is a luxury train that is running in India for the past 30 years. Though it had been innovated in the last decade, the itinerary of Palace on Wheels train has stayed the same. The itinerary runs for seven nights and eight days. The tour starts and ends at New Delhi. This tour covers all important destinations in North and North West part of the country. It is considered as an inclusive of all types of tourist activities thereby the tour is enjoyed by all age groups

Day one – New Delhi
The Palace on Wheels Rajasthanstarts from New Delhi at 6:30 pm from the Safdarjung station.Passengers are requested toreport before 4:30 PM as you would go through some formalities and the welcome procedure. Your butler would take your luggage and escort you to your saloon. You would be served with the welcome drink (non-alcoholic). By 6:30, the train starts its remarkable journey towards the pink city of India.
You will have your royal styled welcome in Jaipur. You would be welcomed with elephants in a traditional royal Indian style. When princes of Indian dynasties enter their kingdom from war or from schools, they are welcomed with elephants. Your list of destinations includes Jaipur palace, Albert Museum, Jantar Mantar, Hawa Mahal and hill fort of Amber. The Amber fort excursion includes elephant tour around the 12th century fort.
If you have time in the evening, you would be assigned with a shopping tour. You would have lunch in 12th century boutique restaurant inside the Amber fort. Dinner will be served on-board. The train starts its travel by 6 in the evening towards Ranthambore.
By early morning 6:30 am, the train reaches Sawai Madhopur railway station. The passengers would be boarded into canters which would take them on a safarithrough the Ranthambore Tiger Reserve. You can spot tigers, sloth bears, panthers, marsh crocodiles, deers, pythons and a lot of birds. Passenger would be taken back to the train by 9:30 in the morning. The Palace on Wheels train then starts its travel towards Chittorgarh. The rest of the morning and early afternoon are reserved for enjoying the facilities inside the Palace on Wheels train.
By 4 in the evening, the train reaches Chittorgarh. The main destination is the hill fort of Chittorgarh and the plateau surrounding it. In late evening, the passengers enjoy a sound and light show in this 11th century fort. The train starts its journey towards Udaipur after midnight and dinner is served in the luxury train India.
Day four – Udaipur
The train reaches the city of lakes by 8 in the morning. After breakfast in the train, the sightseeing starts. Top destinations are City Palace, crystal gallery, boat ride at river Pichola, Fateh Prakash Palace, island inside Lake Pichola and restaurant in it, royal garden of Saheliyon ki Bari and others. The tour ends by 3 in the afternoon. The train starts its travel towards Jaisalmer. Dinner is served inside the train.
Jaisalmer is an oasis in a desert. The top activities include Jaisalmer fort, Patwon ki haveli, Jain temples, library with the oldest manuscript in India and excursion to the sand dunes on camels.
The dinner will be served in a five star hotel along with cultural programs. The passengers would be escorted into the Palace on Wheels train by 10 in the night and the trainstarts its travel towards Jodhpur.
Jodhpur is a place for sightseeing. Top destinations include 16th century Mehrangarh fort, palace complex, museum, royal cenotaphs, Umaid Bhawan palace and others. The passengers would reach the train by three in the evening. The train will start its journey towards Bharatpur.
This day starts very early. The passengers would start their bird watching at Bharatpur bird sanctuary by 6 in the morning. You can enjoy cycle rickshaw ride in the sanctuary where you can spot a lot of migration birds. By 9 in the morning, passengers would be escorted to the train and the train starts its travel towardsAgra.
You would obviously know what Agra stands for. You would be visiting the Taj Mahal and Agra fort. You would spend the evening for shopping and board the train for dinner. The train starts its travel towards Delhi.
The train stops at Delhi station and passengers are requested to checkout by 7 in the morning after breakfast. The train will then move towards its track for refueling and cleaning so that it would be ready for the next tour by evening. The passenger can either stay in Delhi and enjoy various monuments or board their return flight.
