History of Taj Lake Palace
Jag Niwas was built by Maharana Jagat Singh II during 1743-1746, after his name on an island of Lake Pichola. It was built facing the east so that the inhabitants could worship the Sun at dawn and dusk.In 1971, The Taj group took over the management of the palace, hence it was renamed as Taj Lake Palace.
Adorned with white marble, semi-precious stones in the interiors and gardens, fountains and pillars, the magnificent piece is an amazing architectural piece from history.
