1.Varkala, Kerala

Varkala is located north of Trivandrum, and south of Kollam. It is also known as Papanasham Beach, located along the Arabian sea. It is believed that it washes away all the sins.

A 2000 years old Vishnu temple and sivagiri Mutt ashramam are located near to this beach. Swimming, sunbathing and viewing the striking sunset views are the best activities to do here.

This beach is also famous for mineral springs, spa and ayurvedic centres which offer best therapies and treatments.

By Air:

Varkala is well served by airways and the nearest airport is Thiruvananthapuram Airport, 36 km away. It operates several international and domestic flights.

By Train:

Varkala Railway Station is the nearest rail head providing access to trains from Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam. It is located 2 km from Varkala.

By Road:

Varkala can be accessed via bus from Kochi and Trivandrum. You will find many KSRTC buses driving in the city from the main bus stop.

2. Agonda Beach, Goa

Agonda Beach is located in the south Goa, India. This place is isolated which makes it peaceful, beautiful and silent, thus attracts a lot of tourists. You can do swimming, walking, shopping, eating and chilling on this beach. Cabo de Rama Fort is about 20 minutes from the Agonda beach and is an offbeat attraction.

The best time to visit Agonda Beach is from November to March. Agonda beach is still considered relatively off the beaten track and is never very crowded. The peak tourist season on Agonda beach runs from December to February.

By Air:

The approximate distance between Dabolim Airport and Agonda Beach will be approximately 70 km.

By Bus:

The bus arrives every half hour from Chaudi to Agonda which takes about 30 minutes to reach on Agonda Beach.

3. Juhu Beach, Mumbai

 

Juhu beach is located in the middle of Mumbai. It is the most popular beach in Mumbai. It is the most-visited beaches in India and is situated in “Ville parle”.It extended to about 18 km from the centre of the city and is the place well known for film shootings.

Tourists are mostly attracted by the scenic beauty and peaceful atmosphere of the beach. The street food and local delicacies offer excellent cuisines and snack items.

Dadar Bus stand is located at a distance of 15 km from the beach. It is easily accessible via road, there are many options like autos, taxis and MTDC buses.

By Train:

Reaching Juhu beach is quite easy, as it is well connected with rail routes. Ville Parle station is located at a distance of 3 km from the beach.

By Air:

Juhu beach is located close to the International airport and domestic airport. You can hire an auto or a taxi to reach this place.

4. Havelock Island

Havelock Island is one of the largest Island located in the Andaman Islands. This is also officially known as Swaraj Island. It is located at a distance of 41 km from the capital city, Port Blair. The name is given after the British general, Sir Henry Havelock, who ruled India. This is the preferred choice for beach lovers and is supernaturally beautiful.

Scuba diving, sea walk and trekking are the things to do in Havelock Island. Havelock Island is expensive because it does NOT have its own production. All supplies come through the capital city of Port Blair.

The best time to visit Havelock Island is between October and April. October to February is winter, and many honeymooners like to visit the island during this time.

By Air:

You can fly to Havelock from Port Blair in 20 minutes by seaplane operated by Pawan Hans Helicopters Limited. Services are usually available on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday.

By Water:

The best way to get to Havelock is to take the air-conditioned catamaran that takes only 90 minutes to Port Blair. Government ferry services are also available and take approximately 2.5 hours. Book your tickets in advance during the high season.

5. Marina Beach, Chennai

For many travellers, Marina Beach is the best holiday destination. Every day almost 30,000 tourists and locals used to visit this place. It stretches to about 13 km between Besant Nagar and St.George Fort.

There are numerous historical buildings and statues located near the beach. The lighthouse on the beach is of 50 meters high and provides the stunning views of the city and the Marina beach.

Marina Beach is located 3 km away from the city on the North Beach road. You can hire a taxi or cab to reach this place.
