7 Things to Know About IRCTC's First Semi-Luxury Train Called Tiger Express

On 5 June, 2016, on the occasion of the World Environment Day the Railway Minister, Suresh Prabhu flagged off the first semi-luxury tourist train by IRCTC called Tiger Express. This semi luxury train in India comprises of a dining car, a small library and bathrooms with showers.
Tariff of Tiger Express
It offers packages with the tariff structure for the entire trip ranging from Rs 38,500. The trip of 5 days-6 nights includes three Tiger Safaris. The AC-first class package costs from Rs 49,500 to Rs 39,500 and packages for AC 2-tier begins from Rs 33,500 to Rs 43,500. An additional cost of Rs 4,000 is charged for foreign tourists booking safari at Bandhavgarh and Kanha National Park.
Accommodation in air-conditioned rooms for three nights in three star or similar hotels will be included in the package said IRCTC. It will also include food, sightseeing, inter-city transfers along with the travel insurance.

The Itinerary Includes
An IRCTC official while explaining the details of the itinerary said that during the trip of 5 nights- 6 days, the passengers will be taken to Katni, from where they will move towards Bandhavgarh for a safari by road. Then they will proceed for another safari at Kanha.
After that the tourists will be taken to the popular Dhuadhar Falls, located in Bhedaghar, Jabalpur. Then, the passengers will return back to Delhi.

Session Begins
The regular monthly trips of this semi-luxury train in India will begin from October when the National Parks reopen after the monsoon in India.
