The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) is about to launch ‘Three Star’ luxury trains to Shirdi, Goa and Tirupati from Secunderabad, having a basic tariff structure similar to that of normal bus fares.
The announcement was made after Telangana State Tourism Development Corporation (TSTDC) Chairman Pervaram Ramulu requested for the same when he met A.K. Manocha the Chairman & Managing Director of IRCTC and Smita Rawat, Group General Manager at his office in the presence of Christina Z. Chongthu, TSTDC Managing Director.
IRCTC accepted Mr. Ramulu’s proposal and agreed to operate Three Star luxury trains to Basar, Warangal and Bhadrachalam in Telangana and for the group bookings to Hyderabad and Warangal from outside the State.
It was believed that Mr. Manocha have visited the TSTDC to discuss a proposal to operate ‘Seven Star’ super luxury Train the Maharajas’ Express from Konkan to Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, passing through Secunderabad and Kazipet, in Telangana.
He added that unlimited food and wine are served in the Maharaja, while offering visits to tourist places that includes local sight-seeing nearby the scheduled halts.
The menu offered in the train includes sumptuous continental, Thai and Chinese, besides Mughlai and Indian food. The cabins are furnished lavishly in royal style that charges $ 990 (Rs 66,760) per night for a couple. Therefore, the Maharaja trains are famous for offering attractive packages that draws more tourists on-board to experience exciting journey.
